This was the cutest movies for kids and families, five minutes into the movie I was crying and laughing. Now people may say the plot was too "cheesey", literally and figurative, but it's a kids movie. The characters were so cute, and even though you couldn't understand the Boxtrolls because they spoke their own language you still knew what they meant.

Let's get a little plot story going here just so you don't get lost. The Boxtrolls tells the story about a boy/boxtroll named Eggs who thinks he is a boxtroll himself. He is actually a orphaned boy and the boxtrolls take him as one of their own. The story around town, Cheesebridge, is that the boxtrolls stole "Eggs" and ate him. This is the story told by Archibald Snatcher who wants to be apart of the White Hats club, the club who gets to make town decisions but they actually sit around eating cheese all day, kinda like our government! Archibald uses his story to catch boxtrolls in hopes he can one day earn his White Hat membership. When Eggs' "father" is snatched by Archibald and his henchmen, Eggs teams up with the lead White Hat's daughter to uncover all the truths.

To me there are three main characters that really told this story, Eggs, Winnie, and Archibald. Eggs was the main character, this story was really about him in so many ways.

As you can see they get their name's from the boxes they wear, lets just be glad he wasn't a box labeled Panties! Eggs really thought he was a boxtroll but I guess looks meant nothing to him, they took care of him in their own way.

Now onto my favorite character, Winnie Portley-Rind. She was the funniest, cutest character and her sarcasm stole my heart! Being that sarcasm is my second language, I just loved her one-liners and come backs.

Little Winnie was one scene away from ending up on The First 48, as a suspect in someones murder. She caught Eggs with the other boxtrolls and told anyone who would listen to her, which was no one, that the boxtrolls had a boy. Once she actually meets Eggs her bossy demeanor is front and center, asking him what it's like to eat people and did he like the taste of blood! Oh yeah, Winnie is a born killer people and she knows what to do with the body! Winnie then turns into Maury Povich and starts revealing DNA results, telling Eggs that Fish is not his father because he is a real boy and not a boxtroll. Even with all that hate behind her tone, I still loved that little girl!

Now onto the villian(s) of the movie, Archibald and his henchmen. As crazy as little Winnie might have been she was just a misunderstood little girl, but these men are evil and confused which is the worst kind of evil to be!

Archibald was trying to make his way to the high society club by catching boxtrolls, and his henchmen were along for the ride! All Archibald wanted to do was have a white and be able to eat the good cheese with the other white hats, no matter how bad his allergies get!

Yes Archibald has horrible allergies to cheese, but he still wants to be apart of the cheese tasting White Hat group. He swells up so bad that we finally see the blow fish Hootie has been talking about all these years. These are some of the funniest scenes in the movie when he swells up and turns into a beast filled with gas and hives!

But the funniest part about Archibald is actually his other appearance, let's just say he's a really lady killer

Archie is a drag queen by day, and an evil villian well actually all the time. He pretends to be Madame Frufru and the town loves her "performances", if that's what you want to call it. Her singing is questionable but his/her acting is great! The town treats Madame Frufru like Beyonce, but once that wig is ripped off by Eggs we see is not flawless!

All in all this movie is a must see for everyone. The message and cuteness of it make it a great night movie.
